GEN ST Study Abroad Credit Evaluation
Students who wish to have study abroad credits evaluated should follow the steps outlined on the Study Abroad website.
All students should first share their Credit Evaluation Form – along with course syllabi and coursework completed while abroad – with the appropriate UW academic departments to have UW courses assigned to each foreign course.
In most circumstances, it is appropriate for departments to award credit for courses that are related to their academic discipline. Most departments have a general study abroad course number that can be used to award credit if there is not an equivalent course that applies. Advisers are also welcome to refer students to other academic units that may fit the curriculum of the foreign course better.
If there is truly no departmental course that can be applied, students may request GEN ST credit via the following form. Courses will NOT be considered for GEN ST credit until a student has already asked for departmental evaluation from other units.
GEN ST credit will be evaluated within a week of student submission.
