Data science is a fast-growing field that has applications across a wide range of disciplines. At the University of Washington, there are several ways to study data science - some obvious ways and others less so. There are a many factors to consider that might determine which option is right for you.
This class aims to provide first and second year students the opportunity to explore the many data science offerings at UW. No prior data science knowledge or experience is necessary.
- Hear from faculty in a range of disciplines about how they use data science in their respective fields
- Learn more about how to craft a UW experience that connects data science with their own interests and goals
- Compare data science majors and minors and determine which one is best for you
- This course is not a data science methods course that teaches computer science or statistics. It is intended to help students explore what data science looks like in different fields.
