Autumn 2025
Welcome to Autumn quarter and the 2025-26 academic year!
I hope this newsletter finds you well. It's hard to believe that we are just about to head into the holidays!
Once again, this issue offers a variety of program updates and events from across our campuses as well as inspiring student profiles. As always, I hope you enjoy and find the submissions interesting and informative.
As we bring the quarter to a close, UW Admissions and UAA Advising will host Transfer Student Preview Day (TSPD) for the seventh consecutive year. This event will be held on December 11th, 2025 on the UW-Seattle campus.
I hope everyone has a fantastic break and a safe, healthy, and memorable holiday season!

UW Transfer Student Preview Day
Please share with your students that we will host Transfer Student Preview Day again this year on December 11, 2025. This is a program for prospective transfer students (and their families) to learn more about University of Washington programs and services and to connect with UW departments.
We will also offer general/pre-major advising and campus tours on that day. Also, be sure and tell your students to visit with our new Transfer Center Ambassadors during the Resource Fair!
Transfer Center opens in Mary Gates Hall at UW-Seattle
On October 21, 2025, in conjunction with Transfer Student Celebration Week, the University of Washington and Undergraduate Academic Affairs launched the UW Transfer Center. The Transfer Center unites transfer-related programs and partnerships and provides transfer students with a centralized, welcoming home for advising, peer mentorship and campus connections. A main feature is the team of Transfer Center Ambassadors. Ambassadors work with current UW students during regularly scheduled drop-in hours and they participate in transfer-related events throughout the academic year.

A new webpage is now live to especially support transfer students who are a welcome addition to our major bringing their diverse life experiences, academic backgrounds, and personal strengths that enrich our classrooms and communities. We invite you to visit here and learn more about strategies for maximizing transfer credits that advance both general education and ENVIR major requirements!
